Photography for Artists
For versatility, nothing equals liquid photographic emulsion. It allows you to print on materials of any size and shape, including wood, paper, metal, glass, ceramic, plastic, or anything from a wall to a walnut (see gallery). Just brush on the emulsion then expose and process with standard black&white developer. Liquid Light all-purpose emulsion, Liquid Light VC variable-contrast emulsion and Ag-Plus high-sensitivity emulsion have been the world's standard for 30 years. For questions or problems, Rockland provides prompt technical assistance.

Room-light Processes
SelectaColor is a process for making brilliant and permanent color prints with liquid pigments. Easy to use under normal room light. Make fine-art multicolor prints on paper, glass, wood, plastics and other materials. Other uses include nameplates, placques and color-proofing. Printscreen is a liquid sensitizer for making photo silkscreens.
Real Tintypes
There's a special appeal to authentic American tintypes, an
original art form. For over two decades, Rockland has led the tintype revival in this country. With Rockland Tintype Parlor you can make real dry-plate tintypes and ambrotypes in your camera. You can also order tintype supplies in bulk quantities.
Classic Processes
These processes let you enjoy the unique appearance of heirloom
prints. Handling is under room light and all processing chemicals are included. With FA-1 Sensitizer you can create authentic Van Dykes, Argyrotypes and Kallitypes. You can also use it in a contemporary way to print on cloth t-shirts.
Authentic blueprints, also called cyanotypes, are easy to make with our
Blueprint
kit.
Color Toners
Rockland toners add color both to Liquid Light prints and
black&white photographic papers.
Polytoner tones black&white prints not just a single color but
any color.
Printint lets you make pastel-tinted
papers from black & white papers and Liquid Light prints.. Halo-Chrome
tones black and white prints pure metallic silver.
Digital Imaging
For "process" color with lifelike skin tones and natural hues,
use our inkjet transfer
papers. After inkjet printing, the color image is transferred
onto a permanent material-- cloth, metal, plastic, etc.-- using heat or
water.
